The Cauldron Blog Project 2014
« on: December 29, 2013, 08:37:26 am »
Since tomorrow the first week of the new year will start, it's time to put this link up.
You all find the the Pagan Blog Project 2014 thread here on this board.

It's as usual, blogging through the year A-Z, posting the links to your posts here. (And of course on the PBP page.)

Since a few of us discussed a different approach to this writing project, I proudly present the first alternative topics.

We will have a monthly theme and we will pick a current discussion from TC, too, to write about.

OK, let's get started! :)

For January the monthly topic will be:
Resolutions, Habits, New Beginnings

Anything goes: Do you make New Year's resolutions? How do you deal with bad habits? What does your path require you to adapt as habits? How hard is it? How do you trick yourself into doing it? Do your gods want you to let go of bad habits? Why they are bad?....

You see, a lot of different things to write about. Just do as many or as few posts as you like and let us know the link to your post here.

Also: Any suggestions for a Thread of the Month?

The on-going discussion for the theme of the month should happen here, I guess. Or it would just over-run this thread.

Picking the current thread of the month, is a short-notice thing and would be better placed here.

Thoughts?

I'm a little confused (probably because the conversation has spread out a bit).

We have a monthly theme/topic. Are we posting every week on said theme? Are we using the letters as we did for PBP?

Also, what do you mean by thread of the month?

Ah sorry, I can see, how this becomes confusing.

The A-Z theme should stick to the PBP. I don't think it would make sense to do two sets of that. Also it would make it too difficult to think up posts.

For the monthly topic there doesn't need to be a certain number of posts.
If you feel you can or want to do 4 posts, you can do it. If you feel you don't have the time, one post is enough. (After all, a lot of folks might want to do the PBP, too and that would become too much, I think.)

There was the idea to pick current threads on TC, the ones that have been of great interest, or pointing out interesting questions and writing about them, too. But these would be picked on short notice, depending on what comes up.

In a nutshell: Anything goes, but it should stay fun and not start to stress the bloggers out. :)

This looks kinda fun. I may try, even though I puttered around around C last year during the PBP. (And I would still like to get back to that eventually)

Yeah, I dropped out at D.
Well, that's another reason the TC-BP should be more fun and less 'I have to do xy!' - I don't like it, when fun projects start to give people the feeling of fail, just because they couldn't manage a certain deadline or a certain amount. ;)

This.  Blogging felt more like a chore than it should have with last year's PBP.  I made it all the way to H before I threw my hands up in the air and said no more.

Well, the subject of conversion got raised in this thread, and I think the thread at large ties in nicely with the monthly topic.

Thank you. I look forward to being stalked followed. I think it's going to be a fun challenge to come up with some new ideas for regular practice.  I already have an inkling of what February's work will look like; I just need to hash it over a few hundred times in my head first.

I think that is just perfect.
Unless someone else thinks, there is a better thread to pick - I'm all for it.

Well, I did have a blog post in mind on that subject - so that works for me!
