Re: What Are You Reading Now?
I've just finished Kathryn Stockett's The Help. Loved it. Mean Girls meets To Kill a Mockingbird meets, um, something that makes you cry.
Reads over the past three months: Crescent Dawn by Clive Cussler, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal by Jeanette Winterson, The Memory Chalet by Tony Judt, Snuff by Terry Pratchett, The Essential Guide to Taoism by Eva Wong.Last edited by treekisser; 28 Jan 2012 at 07:49 AM. Re: What Are You Reading Now?
I am reading 'The Wild Ways' by Tanya Huff, yet another urban fantasy novel.
It has witches, witches family drama, and a selkie clan in a dispute against an offshore oil drilling company. The company hires a powerful witch and so do the Selkies. The issue is... the two witches are aunt and niece and neither is backing down.
I love this is not the usual romance novel and that there's a little of biting snark thrown in between the pages.“Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.” ― Neil Gaiman *

Re: What Are You Reading Now?
To myself, I'm reading The 12th Planet by Zechariah Sitchin. (Yes it's supposed to be 'history' but I'm reading it as 'science fiction'.)
Also reading The Hobbit to my lil boy. It's a bit thick in they way of prose-- it puts him out after 2 or 3 pages-- so I'm thinking to switch him to lighter fare like Lloyd Alexander instead.Last edited by MadZealot; 16 Feb 2012 at 03:57 AM. Reason: to add italics
