    Hearth Culture (ADF)

If you're in ADF, have you chosen your hearth culture yet? Was it an easy choice? Why did you chose that culture?

    Answering my own question....

    I just chose it yesterday.

It should have been easy -- I already worship the Morrigan, Brighid, and Manannan, so I should go with Gaelic, right? Yeah, no. I found that not only did I not want to re-learn everything about Them, I also didn't want to do ADF ritual with my gods; we have a system that works and I wanted to stick to it. I had to choose another hearth culture.

So I went with the Gaulish hearth culture. I felt a small tug in that direction, and I wanted to learn about something new. So we'll see how it goes.

Irish. Though really, it's a bit pan-celtic as I do work with Cernunnos and have just started exploring a relationship with Rhiannon.

Haven't chosen yet. I'm thinking of exploring the Slavic hearth culture.

I have chosen the Hellenic Pantheon/culture as my hearth culture.

One of the reasons I was really drawn to ADF to begin with was because they were a Neo-Druid group that accepted a variety of Indo-European Pantheons/Hearth Cultures, with Hellenic being one of them. I've had a close relationship with the Goddess Persephone for a while now (since before joining ADF), and, though I am much more drawn to Neo-Druidry as a complete practice, rather than Hellenic Reconstructionism (which I tried, and it didn't work out too well), I did not want to break away from Persephone or the other Theoi I'd made connections with. ADF was perfect then, because of their inclusion of the Hellenic Pantheon/culture. For a little while, I thought to try and make connections with other Pantheons, such as the Celtic Pantheon, but that really didn't work...the Hellenic Gods/culture kept calling me back!

So it was an easy choice, really, since I already knew which Gods I wanted to worship, and what culture I liked - it was really just a matter of finding ADF: now that I have, it's all sort of coming together quite nicely for me ^_^

I have chosen Celtic (Irish focus) and Norse (not as focused). Celtic is my official hearth culture, but I just can't seem to get away from the Germanic cultures. Plus, I have a really hard time just picking one thing.

I was sort of led to ADF through my connection with Manannan. Choosing to study Irish hearth culture felt natural and easy, though I'm interested in Hellenic culture as well. That may be a side project

I have chosen a hearth culture, and its the Celts(Welsh). It was an easy choice, because I felt very drawn to the culture base on ancestry. I chose it because of my ancestry and its very near and dear to me.
