Re: What's the latest movie you've seen in the theaters?
I just saw Snow White and the Huntsman. I give it a solid "Meh."
I thought Charlize Theron was awesome (so much costume porn!), loved the CGI and the music. The rest of the movie? Meh. They didn't really flesh out any of the other characters enough, I felt.
There's one other thing I liked about the movie, but it's a massive spoiler, so I won't go into it.

Re: What's the latest movie you've seen in the theaters?
We took the kids to see Madagascar 3 this afternoon. Fun & completely over the top.
This is a pretty good year for movies. Next on our list are Brave and Prometheus, then we have to wait a bit for the Big Bat-Conclusion.
A trailer played for this animated film coming out in winter. Rise of the Guardians. Looks great.

Re: What's the latest movie you've seen in the theaters?
I...wouldn't bother with Prometheus. I saw it two days ago and it was meh at the best of times. It's very pretty but it's never scary. At best it's a bit disturbing. I has three major flaws that make it hard to watch:
1) The main theme is never delved into but serves as a cheap container for Teh Murdurzz
2) The characters are very inhuman (and not fleshed out at all) with their cold sci-fi characteristics so the few overly emotional scenes are completely laughable because they seem so over the top
3) None of the deaths 'stack', so every one who dies, just dies without any additional fear or trauma to the survivors, the story or yourself.
But did I mention it was beyond gorgeous?
I watched Intouchables last night and was blown away by it. It was so, so much funnier than I had ever imagined without ever going over the top. The acting is fantastic and the story is deeply moving. Please, if you have the chance to go see it, please, please do!Where I ramble on: Baring the Aegis
Where I try to be coherent: Little Witch magazine

Re: What's the latest movie you've seen in the theaters?
I saw it yesterday. Good idea, beautiful costumes and CGI, really boring and disappointing ending, some characters nowhere near used enough or fleshed out (you just can't seem to give a damn about them), so I agree- a solid Meh.
Also, even though it is a 12A rating, I wouldn't take my 10 year old to see it, like we did with Avengers.
Going to go and see Rock Of Ages as soon as it comes out though- that looks like lots of fun with brilliant music (I seem to know all the songs..... go figure)Last edited by Dark Midnight; 10 Jun 2012 at 12:58 AM. Reason: additional content

Re: What's the latest movie you've seen in the theaters?
Oh, you guys make me sad, I wanted to see Snowhite, but if it is that 'meh', I can wait till it is out on rental.
We saw MIB3 last night.
Nothing really spectacular, but solidly made and funny in parts.
It was an absolute OK+ for me. (Means, glad we didn't spend the evening only on the homely couch and got our butts up and I am not sorry about the ticket money.)'You had to repay, good or bad. There was more than one type of obligation.
