Soooooo...
Has anyone worked with them? Or know any places to find reputable information on them? I try to look and all I find are new agey sites.
I mean (before anyone has a conniption) I'm not asking if anyone believes in black and white/good or bad... I was looking for advice of sorts, and I don't know, I have an urge to ask an angel. I'm just curious and such, I've never personally worked with spirits and I'd like to contact some friendly ones on the first go.
I'm sorry if this makes no sense, I'm running on an hour and a half of sleep. Not one of my best moves.

Ceremonial magick has something called the Rite of Abramelin, that summons one's Holy Guardian Angel, but-- well, it's ceremonial. It takes six months of fasting and prayer, and an isolated room of a specific design with a special kind of sand in it, and so many bells and whistles with warnings of doom and peril if done the slightest bit way wrong-- that you might as well just pray. You know?

I used to sense entities as a child, that psychics referred by friends of the family said were angels. Frankly, I think being open like that at all opened me up to both friendly and unfriendly entities-- so, I can't advise any way for you to work with spirits in a way that their "friendliness" will be entirely up to you all the time. Even if they're angels.

Personally, I don't think angels are a good 'starter' spirit. Lots of people have this romanticized image of them as benevolent, gentle spirits, and they conveniently forget that they were first and foremost YHWH's soldiers. They carry out his judgments without mercy, without hesitation, and most if not all have blood on their hands from carrying out those judgments.

That doesn't mean there aren't any 'friendly' ones, Azrael in particular is extremely kind and gentle. But he's also an angel of death, and I wouldn't try to get his attention unless you've recently experienced the death of a loved one or such.
