Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey

In short, the Fox Network is re-working the original Cosmos 13-part series, with Neil deGrasse Tyson hosting. I've been waiting for this for years."The Author of all things watches over me, and I have a fine horse." Mattie Ross, True Grit.

Re: Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
Cosmos was a great series -- however, it's so out-of-date now. A lot has been discovered since 1980. It's a shame Sagan is around to do a updated version of it. I'd love to hear what he was say about all the extra-solar planets we've discovered, all the info from the probes to planets in our own system, dark energy, etc.

Yep. But Tyson is an excellent choice to fill those big boots.
Apparently it's on Fox - of all the unlikely places - because Seth McFarlane (Family Guy, etc) got involved. Rebooting it was originally Tyson's idea; he was looking for a venue, and McFarlane offered to use his clout with Fox. It'll be interesting to see what effect this might have on the science-awareness of certain Fox audience segments.
