Healing a Rotator Cuff Injury?
Hi all, my mom has an injury to her rotator cuff in both right and left shoulder. I've been doing some research on chakras and looking in to energy healing. The impression that I get when I look at her shoulder from an energy perspective is an angry blue and red ball of tangled energy in that area. My research thus far has lead me to the heart chakra and possibly the throat chakra...
I realize this topic may not have much to do with paganism per say but I am a newbie in my path and realize that I may be able to be of some service with sending energies her way.
My question is this, what resources have you used in healing?

Keep in mind that while energy healing will help on the emotional and spiritual front, she should still keep following her doctor's orders.
As for "untangling" her energy, these two sites helped me a LOT with figuring out how to balance my chakras. In general, foods that match the color of the imbalanced chakras will help unblock them.Last edited by Sharysa; 11 Jun 2012 at 01:50 PM. Reason: wrong word

Oh, man. Definitely remind her that this is going to help with recovery, not instantly cure it. And the bolded information kind of concerns me--that may be part of the reason her chakras' energies would be tangled up like this.
The throat chakra deals with communication, and the heart deals with emotions--if they're tangled up and blocked like this, she might have some sort of issue on her mind that she can't/won't express properly.Last edited by Sharysa; 11 Jun 2012 at 09:27 PM. Reason: rephrasing

Re: Healing a Rotator Cuff Injury?
My mom has lived a life of being told to be quiet and not to cry. Her own family wouldn't let her cry at her mom's funeral so I definitely see that. Also, her right arm still hurts and that is the arm that my dad lost his hand on so I'm thinking that since they've been together for so long that she is emphatically feeling his pain. It is a family thing...I used to feel other people's injuries and whisper prayers for healing a few years ago...another story for another time. I mentioned some other therapies and want to build up to the idea of Reiki and chakra work if possible. If not then I will send healing energies and thoughts her way. I definitely want all angles of this issue healed.

Re: Healing a Rotator Cuff Injury?
Since she's already got hospital bills and the issues are explicitly family-related, therapy might be too much financial/emotional strain right now. (Of course, the ultimate decision is up to her.) However, there's no reason you can't ease her into the idea of talking about her feelings. If you aren't already doing so, maybe you and your father could check up on her and ask how she's doing.
How long has it been since he lost his hand, and is she specifically feeling pain that would make her discount other possibilities? I'm not saying it's impossible and I'm DEFINITELY not an empath, but since they've been together long enough for you to be here, it might just be psychosomatic. Or there's something she's not telling the doctor. Also, her right arm still hurts and that is the arm that my dad lost his hand on so I'm thinking that since they've been together for so long that she is emphatically feeling his pain.
Additionally, it might just be that she's using that arm more since most people are right-handed, and the recovery time has made her more sensitive to daily wear and tear than she'd normally be.
Arms are complicated, since we use them for so much stuff. I hit a volleyball wrong once in high school and my hand was only swollen for a couple of days, but years later I still need a minute to clench my fist properly and I get random "too much exertion" pains. Doctor and Mom said I was fine and I may have gotten a very minor dislocation that led to this.Last edited by Sharysa; 12 Jun 2012 at 08:06 PM. Reason: adding something

Re: Healing a Rotator Cuff Injury?
Sorry it took so long to reply. This week marked the first year without his hand. My dad is left-handed and my mom is right handed. Her left shoulder hurts. My thinking is that this is equal parts unresolved emotional issues and health issues.
I finally mentioned to my dad what I saw and he wants me to tell mom. Both my parents are conservative Christians but they are also spiritual. I did mention the Reiki to him and he said absolutely not and that was the end of it. They do believe in the "laying on of hands" concept in healing though so maybe that'll help...only the last time they did that she stopped going to therapy. I'm keeping her in my thoughts and prayers though...even if I do pray to a goddess instead of a god.
