Your favorite Gemstone/crystals?

Some tricks to hide stones/spells/what have you:

Putting a potpourri in a nice dish, add stone - burried under the petals or on top.
Putting stones as 'decoration' in flower pots.
Taping a stone under a table, underneath a drawer, behind a shelf.
Getting some decorative whatever and put stones in there.
Charging water with stones and spraying the plants in the room with it.
Getting a gemstone roomfountain.

This and using carved stones are excellent ideas. I will be doing this.

Which are your favorites and why?

Amethyst is also one of my favorites! I think there's just so much you can do with it.
I'm also a big fan of any kind of quartz or turquoise.

I've found that if you want to get a bunch at a reasonable price, gift shops are a pretty good way to go. Museums, zoos, theme parks... lots of them have crystals for sale. They might not all be the best quality, but if you search for a bit you can usually find some pretty good ones.
