Methods to Find Lost Items
« on: June 03, 2012, 09:30:44 am »
I've retraced my steps and looked in every nook and cranny, and I still cannot find my citrine stone. I'm absolutely positive that it's still in my house because it was in my pocket while I was inside when I lost it. So, do any of you have any spells, rituals, etc. that can be used in locating lost things? Also, I'm wondering if some fae might be messing around with me with that, and if that's the case, what can I do to convince them to give back/show me where my citrine is?

For the possible Fae: bribe them with loads of honey. You can also build them a house so you at least know where they are taking your stuff.

I'll have to think about rituals and such for lost things. I might get back to you on that.

Good luck!

If you find someone who does (or decide to learn yourself - I've never had the patience for it) horary astrological charts, they could probably give you a hand in telling you where to look. Otherwise, you could try a pendulum.

With stones it is a strange thing. Sometimes, when they need a break, they can disappear. And when they want they'll reappear in the most unlikely places, or where you've looked already 10 times. ;)

Have you tried a pendulum yet?
I use them for such things and sometimes it even works. :D:

Things go missing and turn up in odd places in our house all the time.  We politely ask -- out loud -- for the item to be returned and it usually is within a day or two.

I'm currently missing a book and a deck of Le Normand cards and really hoping they show up soon.

*nods* It does help. Sometimes.
If the object is shiny... sometimes not. :p
Once we looked for a key, they kept it for over a week, well it was shiny.

Throw in a bit of flattery over how clever and powerful they are to have stolen the object or have hidden it in plain sight and you have what we do in our house.  The more flattery, it seems, the quicker the item gets returned.

And if that doesn't help a well placed threat might.
Which depends highly at the beings involved and the relationship one has got with them. (Read as: go on at own peril.) :whis:

Keys... hmm
My keys have been missing for a couple of weeks now, I've looked EVERYWHERE repeatedly. So I think I'll need to try some of these ideas

Funny thing, my husband lost a key this morning, after having set it down *somewhere* 5 minutes earlier.

I think they like the way we get all panicky when we're looking for our keys. Other stuff is usually not so urgent.

I have a funny story along these lines.

Years ago when I was still in school, the money I always kept on my dresser went missing while I was taking a shower. I didn't have a roommate, so I knew nobody could have taken it, but I had someplace I needed to be that afternoon and had depended on having the cash. I searched everywhere, every place it could have fallen or that I might have put it accidentally or unthinkingly, and I had no luck whatsoever. I began to say out loud what a funny joke it was, and that I appreciated the sense of humor but absolutely really needed the money.

After a while I gave up looking and prepared to leave, hoping I could borrow some money from my friends. Then I found the money - stuffed in the toe of one of my shoes.

(Supposed to be a reply to the general thread.)

Thanks for all the ideas! I remembered when looking up "sidhe" on here that it is rude to thank faeries, so I'll be careful to say that I'm appreciative of them returning my citrine, not that I thank them. This being one of my first encounters with them, I would be making a horrible first impression had I not known about that.

My plan of action: offer some milk with honey to the faeries and ask aloud for them to return my citrine. If, for whatever reason, this proves futile, I think I remember one of my Wiccan friends making some astrological charts; maybe she has the horary variety on hand. And if all else fails, I'll just buy a new chunk of citrine. :/

I moved to Tennessee in February and was heartbroken at the lost of my most valued working crystal. It wasn't until I relocated again at the beginning of June, did I find it in the most obvious place as I was packing my belongings.

I had meditated on it, asking if I'll ever see it again. I was told I would not, yet there it was. Perhaps a lesson needed to be learned to form less of an attachment?
