Re: Fertility Rites
When I was trying to conceive my daughter, I did a major bit of heka to cleanse my ka. However, I also had a belief that I had ... for lack of a better word, inherited complexes and traumas that were sabotaging my ability to conceive, so magical work to heal those (on top of, y'know, years of therapy) was effective and necessary work to have a baby.
Do you or your partner have a family trauma legacy that might be causing you problems (like, one of you feels that you may be too damaged from your childhood to be a good parent, for whatever reason)? If that's the case, that working may be of use to you.

Re: Fertility Rites
The best advise I ever received was "If you want fruit of the womb don't wear fruit of the loom!" Jockey style shorts hold the testies close to the body and cause a decrease in sperm count was what I was told. The doctor actually prescribed that one wear boxer or other loose type undergarments which allowed the testicles to move away somewhat.
Of course my friends said to poke in jest and stop trying to get her pregnant then it will happen. I mut admit I was stationed in Japan at that time and the wife also purchased a couple of the Japanesse fertility dolls that are placed at the top of the bed. Then again the Japanesse also have quite a few fertility shrines in many temples.

Re: Fertility Rites
Is there a handy new-born you could borrow? My heart daughter had been through the clovis (sp) fertility program twice without result, but four months after starting to baby-sit a friend's new-born daily she conceived. Her son is ten years younger than his older sister (who was conceived when she was working at a day-care) but at least she had two like she always wanted.
I also have an aunt and some of my mother's friends saying the same thing about their conceptions. Not quite magic or religion, but there seems to be something fundamental about being around infants that helps.

Re: Fertility Rites
I have the book 'Witch in the bedroom' by Stacey DeMarco - it has whole a section on the pregnancy and conception so you might be interested in it.
I have a vague memory of it advising to try conceiving during the woman 'lunar hot spot' that was, I believe, the lunar phase the woman was born into, which was prsented as her most fertile time.
I might be wrong tough... I read it ages ago. I can check for you later if you want but I can't vouch for its vericity since i was never in the position to try it.“Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.” ― Neil Gaiman *

Re: Fertility Rites
I suffered a miscarriage a few years back. They can be very difficult experiences. I hope both of you are healing well.
I don't have too much advice, but I will add one thing which hasn't been mentioned yet: if you smoke cigarettes/cigars, then quit. It can significantly reduce your fertility. My husband and I were trying for well over a year without success, and the month after he quit smoking I finally got pregnant. After that we never had trouble again.

Re: Fertility Rites
First off, I'm sorry you two are having trouble conceiving.
Secondly; have you gone to see a fertility specialist? Do you know if both of you have problems or only one of you? If so, would you mind sharing what the problem is?
There are a lot of mundane things you can do to heighten your chances to conceive. There are also a good couple of magickal things you can attempt but only when you've narrowed down exactly what the problem is. I'm not well versed in Kemetic magick or ritual but I know some of my rune spells which might help... but again, only when it's completely clear what and where the problem is.
Good luck!

Re: Fertility Rites
My stepmother tried for 5 years with a fertility doctor to conceive then her mother suggested cutting out soy from her diet, being that she's been vegetarian for 20+ years. Cutting out the extra hormones seemed to work, she conceived a few months later only to miscarry, then again a year later. Only when she had given up and made plans to adopt did she conceive. She says it was because of a rocking horse toy that had been passed through her social group and mailed all over the country. If you keep it in the bedroom, it bestowed fertility. Each woman that owned it conceived within a year. My stepmother conceived my half sister with 3 months of getting that rocking horse.
