Need help with Cernunnos

I need help on communicating with Cernunnos..Anyone here help that also follows him as well? I have a small natural forest in our backyard and was wondering if I should build a shrine down there to pray to him.

I don't have a thorough understanding of Cernunnos, and by no means call myself a Celt, so give me a virtual slap on the wrist if I am wrong in any way, shape, or form.

I do recall reading somewhere that the simple use of an oak tree would be quite effective... If you don't live near any oaks, per se, I'm sure that incorporating oak wood into your shrine would suffice.

Actually, this seems like a pretty good idea since his favorite trees are oaks. I will do this, thank you
