    Circle Casting Ritual...

Howdy folks. I'm writing my first circle casting ritual (have been using a standard, basic circle ritual that I found online) and am wondering if any of you can take a look at it and give me some feedback and see if I left anything out while I'm still in the writing process.

Also, it should be said, that I'm aware that many of us have many different views on circles: some like super powerful circles, some don't use them at all. To me a circle is used to empower a ritual and create a safe place for it to be done with the watchtowers/elements acting as guardians. I call upon and divinity I'm working with afterwards. I am very adaptive though and love to know how others do theirs.

"To the watchtowers of the East, element of Air, I invite and welcome you to this circle. I seek your protection, ask you to fill me with your wisdom, and ask you to empower this circle with your presence.

To the watchtowers of the South, element of Fire, I invite and welcome you to this circle. I seek your protection, ask you to fill me with your passion, and ask you to empower this circle with your presence.

To the watchtowers of the West, element of Water, I invite and welcome you to this circle. I seek your protection, ask you to fill me with your intuition, and ask you to empower this circle with your presence.

To the watchtowers of the North, element of Earth, I invite and welcome you to this circle. I seek your protection, ask you to fill me with your stability, and ask you to empower this circle with your presence.

2 more times around I spin, drawing this circle, as this ritual begins. The circle I draw empower, and protect. My works here tonight the universe bless.

1 last time around I spin, drawing this circle, as this ritual begins. The circle I draw empower, and protect. My works here tonight the universe bless.

Between time and worlds, I now stand, ancient energy of the universe at my command. As above, so below, as I will it, it shall be so."

They have a certain task in the systems using them.
(Somebody more versed in this can maybe step in and explain more.)

So the Watchtowers will watch, the Guardians will guard. Former face to the circle, latter face outward.

Ah, good point. I should mention that I do realize they are separate forces. I included that there, separated by comas, due to the correspondences between the directions and the elements.

One other thing to consider, besides Tana's comments, is that some people prefer to call the powers of the elements, rather than the element itself. (In the theory I follow, this leaves you less open to randomness from the elements or elementals.)

My tradition calls the guardians, then "spirits and ancient ones of the [direction], powers of [element]"

We also generally do three things for each direction in the call (so for air in the east, it might be "knowledge, discernment, and clear communication", for fire in the south it might be "passion, desire, and will") I've found that three (short!) items gives me a much clearer triangulation on the focus of the ritual than just one does.

The article on the watchtowers on Wikipedia isn't bad: Watchtower (magic)

    Ah, excellent.
I've stopped casting circles in this way some years ago, so I haven't looked into it any further.
