And that's really all you need, in my opinion. Something to remind you of where you came from, who lives in you, and what you are passing on to your future generations.

I decided to start simple, with just a few words, and an offering. It worked.
I am a 45 year old man, I am decidedly skeptical about most things supernatural. I make certain that I am seeing what I think I am seeing, and that there isn't a logical explanation. That being said, are they supposed to keep the glasses? I have left milk out several times, at least once per week, at least half the time not only was the milk gone but so was the glass. No the wife isn't playing a prank. Explanations?

They might like the glass. Try a wooden cup maybe?

I would be getting the glasses at a thrift store!

Explanation? There's more in heaven and earth......
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

One was a very nice Saint Brendan's tumbler, looks like a stop at the thrift store is in order.

Well, you did offer to them. How are they supposed to know they can't take the glass?

If I may speak back to the original issue. Do you still use the old house? Could you? It might help to start thinking of the old house as an outbuilding, rather than a completely separate house. Maybe use it for guests, or for gatherings. Make the two buildings into one Home, in your head. If you can convince yourself of that, it might help the wight expand territory.

No they are being left inside. It's really intriguing, since it is only the nicer glassware that is leaving. You are right, I do use the old house as sort of an out building, but it is a good 1/4 mile from the new house, my property is fairly large. So as far as getting down there often, I don't. I may need to set up an alter down there as well, and try and unify the two separate buildings.

Depending on how you use the word often, I don't think that's necessary. Just regularly. Once a month, maybe. If you use the space often enough to maintain an altar, I think that's plenty. As long as you're using the space, and not just going down and checking up on things and leaving.

The point would be to establish it as another part of your house, and not 'the old house.' This would tell the energy systems of the land/property that you didn't build a new house, you expanded the old one with non-adjacent rooms.
