    Sure!

This site seems to have some good, basic information.

I don't work with them a lot, but they are strong gaurdians for rituals, especially if you are opening up your energy to the cosmos.

For a little back round info, I consider myself an animistic pagan. I believe that there is energy throughout everything and we connect with that energy by doing the things we love (which for me is playing my oboe) and being around things we love. I also acknowledge chakra's and will use them to help center and ground me before any serious meditation. Oh... and I am aslo trying to do small self-taught yoga sessions 3 times a week.

    Any suggestions?
Well, the full and new moons are points of great energy and you said that you were interested in energy. I have also found that they are brilliant times for meditation. Maybe you could start to do monthly lunar meditations and focus on sensing energy? Other than that, as others have suggested you're going to have to decide what the moon means to you, and what including it in your rituals means. Best of luck!

I usually tend to try to incorporate Hecate (Greek 'lunar' Goddess) into my Esbat and new moon rituals. I would imagine that these ideas could be used to incorporated into rituals designed to honor the moon.

What I usually do is thank her, during full moons, for 'lighting' our paths through my magical and mundane lives.

For new moons, I thank her for the rebirth that is happening in the moon cycle, and my life. I like to mediate on transitions during this time.

You could put a bowl out at dusk and collect it before dawn. Dew is considered moon charged, you could use it in some type of ritual way. Maybe as an offering or for cleaning. Mani, the moon in Norse myth, is a male energy and due to his effect on the tides tied to math. Music is very math like in nature so playing for him or the Moon in general is a good idea. Charging your stones in the moon light or tools would give them a lunar touch. Monday is Moon Day so maybe spending some time looking at the moon or making an offering would be good.

The moon controls tides, water, and of course, humans are something like 98% water or something like that, so the pull of the moon is quite strong in living things. I like to recharge benieth the moon. Just lay out in a (safe) garden or yard and allow your limbs to be caressed by the moonlight. (Hopefully without mosquitoes).

The moon is used to purify ritual tools and other things. Sort of like a moon-bath.

One does their spell work during certain phases of the moon. It is best to do it out in the open where you are not obstructed by man-made objects like roofs. Those things you want to come to you (be born) use new moon, to leave you use waning moon (for example: you want "bad luck" to go you use waning). Full moon is most powerful.

A lot of people are afraid of "night" and "dark" but you can learn to love it if you go out into it a lot.

There are tons of books available with moon ritual scripts in them. They may be a bit Wicc-ish for your practice, but you could cherry pick a bit here and there and put together something workable.

(which for me is playing my oboe)
I can't resist... how do you tune two oboes? Shoot one.

Just want to point out that Hecate / Hekate is not the Greek Lunar Goddess. Selene is the Greek Lunar goddess. Granted later she was sort of broken down so that Selene was the Moon all the time, Artemis was the full moon and Hekate / Hecate became the dark of the new moon.

Somewhat similar to the Roman usage of Luna - Diana - Hecate / Hekate

so true. I have learned to adjust to my fellow oboists so hopefully I will not get shot in the future...

Can you name some of the books?

    Thanks,
