Re: Tattoos that could be taken racially
Oh I dunno, I for one am grateful that he marked himself out for the rest of us. Would that more irredeemable twunts would advertise their arseholeishness so directly. It'd make it a hell of a lot easier to avoid them.
As far as tattoos go, you may want to go with less obvious choices. The valknut is nice, but has connotations. What do you think of runic stuff? While the matter of whether or not runic charms are modern stuff or traditional could get you some sideways glances from recon heathens, as a personal decorative choice they could be a good alternative.

Re: Tattoos that could be taken racially
If it was with me, I'd choose an almost innocent symbol such as the equally armed cross, which, by the way, stands for the number ten in Chinese. And it can be decorated according to your preference. You'd be a 'heathen almost in disguise'. A hint I'd follow is to have it done somewhere you can easily cover with clothing, unless you have no intentions to step into some fundamentalist muslim country or community, as you could get in trouble.
Cheers!

Re: Tattoos that could be taken racially
Some other symbols are being used by present day neo-nazi and white supremacist groups. However, while I am aware of a couple of such symbols that use the equal-armed cross, they both add to it. One adds a small swastika in the center, the other a circle that bisects the midpoints of arms of the cross (sometimes called "Odin's Cross"). As far as I know the equal-armed cross itself is untainted.

I have a algiz rune. I am not a skin head but believe in Odinism. I have debated about the vulknut. But still undecided.
I would blame it on the media, why these symbols are hate symbols.
