Apparently Lania is a village in Cyprus, that is said to take its name by Dionysos' daughter. Androgynus features also would make me to think of a youthful Dionysos (the leopard is sacred to him too).... or by association, as someone else suggested, Ariadne.

I knew I was onto something. I didn't wake up with those words in my head for nothing. I haven't quite figured out if it is Dionysos or Ariadne, but I think I might have to meditate on it. Thank you. So much. x

A lot of this is also applicable to Adonis. He to is connected to Cyprus, especially in his role as the ever youthful vegetation god and his connection of beauty. Even in the idea of being androgynus in apperance and his religion belonging to women or girls.

You are welcome. I suppose you might even count in that Dionysos's cult, was widespread in Macedonia, hence a possible link to Veria too. I would research on archeological sites and temples/cults in those two areas if i was in your shoes. You never know what might come from it, but it would at least give you something to work on.

Ah, I wasn't aware of his connection to Cyprus. Goodness, I'm going in all directions now!

Certainly. I'm looking it up right now. Thank you, once more. This has been extremely helpful, though I have no idea why Dionysos would be making a statement in my life - I don't even drink. :P

Well, you were correct. The Dionysos cult paraded right through Veria, Thessaloniki, and up into Pella. It has to be Him.

People who don't drink are amongst his followers, don't worry. The fact isn't so much of drinking (although it's one of his central aspects), it's the loosening or maddening aspect of it. Sannion over at The House of Vines has really written a lot about him, and co-runs Wild Divine.
