Do any of you attend Celtic festivals? I used attend one in Texas when I lived there, but I moved to Colorado, but there some here as well.

Re: Celtic Festivals
There aren't too many in my neck of the woods. The Southern Maryland Celtic Festival is decent, but small, and there's the Celtic Fling run by the same folks who do the Pennsylvania Renaissance Festival, but that's more of a music and vendor show than something with traditional games, though they do have some games there.
A few of the local festivals have died out recently. I dunno if that was due to the lousy economy, a lack of interest in participating in the games, or what.

Re: Celtic Festivals
Contemporary our Cultúrlann has monthly céilí, and the same West Belfast area has the annual Féile an Earraigh, and Féile an Phobail.
Pagan wise the Navan Centre at Emain Macha here up North, and friends that run the Cruachan Aí Heritage Centre down in Roscommon put on celebration around the 4 fire festivals and Solstices. I've been to festivities at Eamhain Mhacha, and the Hill of Tara, but would like to hop on the handy ferry one day and check out the Beltane festival in Edinburgh.

Re: Celtic Festivals
Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of attending one, though I have been the the renaissance faire several times during their May Day celebrations.
Come to think of it, the idea of openly attending with other people interested in Celtic culture of their many varieties might be a good way to network, and find people interested in the same flavor of Celtic spirituality that I'm into.
Honestly, I would like to one day host my own festival on a holy day, even if it's a very simple rite, but joining others would be a good idea nonetheless...

Re: Celtic Festivals
Well, here in Scotland there is the annual Beltane fire festival that is held at Edinburgh on the Calton hill. The Samhuinn festival is attended on Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile. I usualy don't go to large festivities and prefer to celebrate at my own grounds like my home but I have considered going along to either of the two in the past.

Re: Celtic Festivals
There's actually a very well known Scottish Fest held here every year, for 19 years running, I believe. I've only been here for a couple of years, and the first year I wasn't aware of the fest; this year I already had plans to I couldn't go.
But next year! Next year I am getting all up in that!
