Re: Android or iPhone?
just a note, 3G and 4G networks are being rolled out as fast as cost will allow for many of the telecom companies, but there is growing competition coming from alternate providers that are looking at the distribution of wide area WIFI networks; SHAW in Canada is doing this. So, the 3G or 4G capability of your phone may be a non issue if you end up deciding it is more cost effective to just ditch your mobile data plan in favour of using the new widely distributed WIFI networks instead.
Just one more thing to consider as you shop for high tech devices

Re: Android or iPhone?
Definitely this. I have the iPhone 4 too - and while web browsing is a bit slow, in practice, I do very little actual web browsing. (Data, yes - like I said, I use it as my GPS, and that's a bunch of data when I've got it on, which is a couple of times a month for a couple of hours, right now.)
But for reading email, or for doing a quick check on a website (hours, address, etc.) it works just fine. If I want faster speeds, I go take some larger device to a coffee shop/library/whatever with wifi, or something equivalent.Limen: Thoughts from a Threshold (my blog) :: http://gleewood.org/threshold

Re: Android or iPhone?
The company I am planning on going with, Koodo, has a huge wi-fi thing. I can even ask them to disconnect my ability to get on their network outside of wi-fi if I want to. Seeing as I'm pretty much around wi-fi 24/7 (both home and school operate on wi-fi), I don't think this will be an issue.

Re: Android or iPhone?
I just bought an Android earlier today. (Was on BlackBerry.) I briefly considered the iPhone, but the one my friend has drops call like hot potatoes, they don't support Flash, and the battery doesn't come out. (This was important because I want to use my phone as gps for hiking, and my husband said, "well, if you can always carry and extra battery if you need to in case you run low".)
I asked the guy if you could use it as a mp3 player, and he was response was "oh absolutely" then proceeded to show me how easy it is to download songs from the Android store FOR FREE! Free music for the win!"If you believe in love you're always alive" -- Our Lady Peace
