From ouyt of the mouths of children...
Children can say the funniest things. They can also be very perceptive (especially when you wish that they weren't), This thread is here for you to share all of the little things that children suddenly say to you.
For example:- we were on the beach in Cornwall a week ago. Whilst she was rock climbing, the wind caught some of the waves' spray and blew it into her face. All she had to say was 'Oh. The oceans breath of wetness'. We were in stitches with her, but I will admit that I do like that description!Last edited by Dark Midnight; 9 Nov 2011 at 05:23 AM. Reason: spellings

Re: From ouyt of the mouths of children...
My daughter, who was six or seven at the time, used to literally hug trees. On a visit to Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island, she was surprised by the huge old growth redwoods and cedars. I asked if it was the size that amazed her. Nope..... it was that most trees go "swish, swish when you listen to them, but these old guys go wooooom, woooooom..... " I was simply gob-smacked.... never knew she was actually listening to the trees!

'You had to repay, good or bad. There was more than one type of obligation.
That’s what people never really understood.….Things had to balance.
You couldn’t set out to be a good witch or a bad witch. It never worked out for long.
All you could try to be was a witch, as hard as you could.'
Terry Pratchett 'Lords and Ladies'

Re: From ouyt of the mouths of children...
My 4 year old is very good at knowing what me and his dads are talking about when he isn't around. I was raped by a person I thought was a friend, and one day, my son walked up and started asking about what was going to happen to the man who attacked me. I never told him who did it or even what happened, so I asked him how he knew, he said we all acted different. Smart kid. But he was concerned, so I told him that the guy was going to jail, which he didn't understand, so I let him watch the first 5 minutes of Lockdown, and that must have convinced him that things were taken care of because he doesn't seem worried anymore.
On a side note, same kid thinks that Doctor Who lets Santa borrow the TARDIS in order to make all the deliveries in one night, and that they are friends. Funny, since santas have been used to do bad stuff in one episode. I guess that went over his head. He also was mopey for 2 days after watching Goblet of Fire and seeing Ten playing a bad guy. I knew understand how a kid can understand a crime and come to terms with it, but doesn't understand that movies use actors.
