Re: Would you give your child a chickenpox lolly?
ok first of all "licking the lollipop" won't give anyone chickenpox, the virus has to be inhaled! If they really wanted to give their kids chickenpox and actually did their homework they would know it's better to get a few kids that still have unpopped blisters in a room with kids who are not infected that would be way easier and not so freaking GROSS!!!!! That being said when my oldest came home from school with them I didn't try to keep her form the other 2 if they got them they got them I wasn't overly worried about it, better to get it done and over with while they were young!!!!!

That's the way we used to do it, Rubella sleepovers, pox parties. The lollipops just sound gross too.
My older two got the pox, cause my doc at the time in the mid 1990's said that the vaccine was less than 75% effective, the younger two got the vaccine in the early 2000's.Katrina

Re: Would you give your child a chickenpox lolly?
I couldn't have gotten my daughter to do this anyway - she wouldn't even let her crayons be touched by the other kids in kindergarten and the early primary grades because some of them put them in their mouths etc.
My kids were good friends with the children of a friend of mine. When one got chicken pox, we made sure they were all together so they all got it. It was summer, and between the 4 adults we just passed them back and forth until the pox was done and they could go back to daycare.Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
