Working Out
If you workout what type of exercises, videos, etc. do you do for your workouts?

Re: Working Out
For me it's martial arts. I usually Kickbox on Tuesdays, go to Tai-jutsu on Thursdays, and train MMA on Fridays nights, or at least that's the plan if I don't have to work late, or get too wrecked on Thursday for MMA, which is pretty strenuous, and 3 hours long.
My MMA mates seem to over train, running constantly&weight training on their off days(which is only like 2 days!), and I've read off of Marksdailyapple.com that that kind of strenuous exercise produces too much of our fight&flight stress hormone cortisol that's hard on our bodies and wrecks our immune systems.

Re: Working Out
When I'm doing as I should I go to the gym and spend about 1/2 hour on the treadmill or cardio machine then do some weights/resistance stuff and back to the treadmill. Otherwise its incidental excercise. I like yoga but my gym has an awkwardly timed yoga class and most of the classes are way overcroweded. When the weather is good I like to go to a local park and walk a paved trail and when it's really good (read dry and not super heated/sticky) I go to a different park with a rougher trail that's more like hiking and do a fitness trail there.

Re: Working Out
Might be good if I reply to my own thread huh?
Here is what I try to do:
Arms & Shoulders 2x a week
Chest & Back 2x a week
Legs 2x a week
I will do cardio after all of them except for on leg day. No way am I trying to run or ride a bike after that!
If I can't do what I want I typically try to do a video, Tae-bo or some such, walk, ride a bike, or go swimming.

Re: Working Out
I am dreadfully out of shape (having never been in shape, really, in my life) so on the 1st I started doing a half hour on the new upright exercise bike. I'm planning to add in some very minor arm weight training and learn how to do crunches properly, but I want to make the daily biking a solid habit first.
I've tried to do video exercises, but I appear too uncoordinated to follow them without tripping and hurting myself. I'd love to take a yoga or bellydancing class eventually, but I need money first!"I don't go anywhere without my mutated anthrax! 'Fer duck huntin." - Futurama

Re: Working Out
I'm trying to get into a routine, but I keep forgetting or getting distracted. Right now, I occasionally run/jog/walk and lift weights. I'd like to do cardio three times a week and weights at least twice. But right now, all I do on a regular basis is hockey twice a week.

Re: Working Out
Back when I was active, I used SparkPeople to find really good 10-minute cardio and strength training videos. Coach Nicole is a fantastic motivator. :D
Check out Elysian Harvest, the business I run with my friend. I do jewelry, she does ceramics, we both do awesome.
