Today is the day
Ten years ago
When planes flew in
To the Twin Towers
The Pentagon
Shanksville, PA

Lives were lost
Buildings destroyed
Hopes and dreams
Shattered

FDNY rushed in
Doing their jobs
NYPD and Port Police too

Some returned
Many perished

Those who returned
Picked up the pieces
Life went on
Doing their jobs
Never to forget

That bright September morn
Ten years ago
