Bota
Builders of the Adytum. I'd never heard of them before I stumbled on their website; https://www.bota.org/
I googled the name and came upon rather varied reviews - seems like people think the lodge is fairly dead, but that the correspondence course in western occultism is top notch.
So I signed up first for one month, now for 3 more.
Anyone else studied with them or heard about them?
So far it's partly 'think happy thoughts' - but solidly balanced by 'if you don't take actions to back it up, those thoughts don't mean anything!'

Re: Bota
Hi,
I did do their Tarot classes a few years back, still got them and refer to them. Excellent stuff really. At the time I was not really interested in lodge work but they did awaken my curiosity in Kabbalah and ceremonial magic. In general I really like the material by Paul Foster Case but not so much the writings by Rev. Ann Davies. It reminded me a bit of some personality cult almost, so after the tarot lessons I was happy on my way to other things. To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.

Re: Bota
I've just received my first set of lessons during December and began working the material into my daily study/practice. You are right, the reading is easy going and even seems a bit elementary but, for me anyway, following the guidelines to a tee takes a bit of work.
Forgetting the little, yet necessary, steps to facilitate growth is so easy.
I look forward to continue this work.

Re: Bota
I've just started on the painting. Occasionally finding it hard to fit every little task into the day - I'm glad I'd already worked on developing solid general routines that I could add the work onto, otherwise I'd end up just reading and only doing in bursts.
Oh and pattern - loves it... Finding deeper meanings all the time.
BTW - would any of you be interested in a closed group that we could discuss things in?My (mainly) astrological blog

Re: Bota
This was my experience exactly. I got the monthly lessons for three or four years, I believe. The material produced by or under the direction of Paul Foster Case was superlative, as were his books. Once the lessons trailed off into the work of Rev. Ann Davies I rapidly lost interest; but I have three or four binders stuffed with excellent reference material to show for it. Once I discovered Aleister Crowley, I went off in a different direction.
Hamlet was right! But so was P.T. Barnum . . .
