This book has become a classic introduction to the Wiccan religion. Scott Cunningham's friendly style clearly and simply describes the theory and practice of the religion, with a special emphasis on solitary practice. Most books on Wicca describe Wicca as it is practiced by covens. This book is aimed at those who cannot find a Wiccan group that they feel comfortable with. Wicca includes a complete book of Wiccan rituals designed for solitary worship by the author, the Standing Stones Book of Shadows. This slender volume provides a solid grounding in Wiccan theory and philosophy without ever becoming pedantic or boring. If you are trying to find out what Wicca is, the first half of this excellent book will tell you. With this slender volume, Cunningham created a version of the Wiccan religion that does not require a coven.
